Project brief
Vantage South End is a mixed-use office and retail campus at South Tryon Street and Carson Boulevard in Charlotte's South End. It has two 11-story office towers, a parking garage, about 55,000 square feet of retail and amenity space, and a park of about one acre, for a total of roughly 635,000 square feet. The Spectrum Companies developed the campus with equity partner Invesco, and LS3P was the lead design firm.
LS3P broke the building forms along oblique lines. The facades of the East and West towers splay outward to open up the central park, and their north elevations lean forward toward the Uptown skyline, giving the campus the character of a gateway to South End. The park is equipped with wireless infrastructure, and the project holds LEED Silver certification. The towers were completed in 2021 and 2022, with LendingTree as the anchor tenant of the West Tower. The project received an ENR Southeast 2022 award for office, retail and mixed-use work and a 2024 Great Urban Architecture Award from Charlotte Urban Design. Cousins Properties completed its purchase of the property in December 2024, when it was 97 percent leased.
BOGZA produced renderings for Vantage South End in 2020. They include a view of the campus fitness center, showing its cardio bikes and weight machines beneath a wood-slat ceiling, one of the amenity spaces provided for the towers' tenants.
