Project brief
Ashland is a master-planned community of single-family homes in north Angleton, Texas, near Highway 288 and FM 521 in Brazoria County. It is the city's first master-planned community, with more than 2,000 homes planned at build-out. Ashton Gray Development is the developer, and Meta Planning + Design prepared the land planning. Builders including Ashton Woods, Lennar, CastleRock Communities, K. Hovnanian Homes, Saratoga Homes and Starlight Homes are building houses of about 1,400 to 3,000 square feet on lots 50, 55 and 60 feet wide.
Angleton's city council approved the community in 2023. The plan sets aside land for nature preserves, about 8 miles of trails, a recreation center and pools. It also includes school sites for Angleton ISD, commercial frontage along Highway 288 and a future town center, and it is aimed at people who work along the Highway 288 corridor. Ashland is under construction. The first 450 lots have been delivered to eight builders, pre-sales have started and model homes are being built.
BOGZA worked on Ashland in 2023, building a 3D model of the community and producing exterior renderings and a film. Its aerial rendering of the full site shows single-family streets laid out around winding lakes and green corridors, with an amenity center and sports fields at the entrance. The view traces the street pattern, water features and open space against the surrounding farmland.
