Project brief
Braxton is a seven-story apartment building with 363 homes at 66 S. Van Gordon St. in Lakewood, Colorado, in the Union Square neighborhood at the base of Green Mountain. It offers studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 583 to 1,315 square feet. Carmel Partners developed the project, KEPHART was the architect, and TRIO handled the interior design.
The building is a podium design that covers nearly all of its roughly four-acre redeveloped site. Its courtyard pool sits on top of the parking structure, and entrances are placed at different levels to follow the sloping streets. Shared spaces include a two-story fitness center, a clubroom, a business lounge, a dog park and pet salon, an outdoor pool and spa, and a seventh-floor sky lounge facing the foothills and the Denver skyline. The site is next to the Federal Center light rail station on the W Line and close to job centers such as the Denver Federal Center. Construction began in 2022, and the building is now leasing.
BOGZA produced exterior renderings and an animation for the project. One rendering shows an evening view of a landscaped courtyard between the apartment wings, with a fire pit and lounge seating.
