Project brief
Goodman Logistics Center Fullerton is a four-building industrial logistics campus of about 1.54 million square feet on a roughly 65-acre site at 2001 E. Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton, California, near the corner of Orangethorpe and Acacia Avenues. It replaced a Kimberly-Clark paper plant that closed in 2020. Goodman's North American arm developed the campus, and HPA, Inc. designed it. The four buildings range from about 174,000 to 538,000 square feet. Their tenants include Sprouts Farmers Market, Samsung and Bandai Namco.
The buildings use tilt-up concrete. At the corners, E-shaped panels meet at a 45-degree angle, with glazing set into the gaps between them. Inside are clear heights of 36 to 40 feet and cross-dock layouts. Each building has its own driveway, and the campus has 259 loading docks in all. The site sits close to the 91 and 57 freeways, about 20 miles from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The City of Fullerton approved the project in November 2020. Clearing the old plant took nearly six months, and about 95 percent of the existing on-site materials were recycled. The project is registered under LEED for new construction and includes EV charging. It won ENR's 2024 Best Regional Project award in the Manufacturing category.
In 2020, BOGZA produced exterior renderings of the campus. They include a daytime view of one of the distribution buildings and its truck court, seen from the landscaped entry.
