Project brief

Gravity Haus Vail is a boutique hotel paired with a members-only adventure club at 352 East Meadow Drive in Vail Village, Colorado. It has 22 guest rooms, seven condominiums and 1,700 square feet of meeting space. The lodge sits along Gore Creek, steps from Bridge Street and a short walk from Gondola One and the Ford Amphitheater. Gravity Haus, the company Jim Deters founded in 2019, owns and operates it, and Studio Lemonade designed the interiors.

The building was formerly the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa, which Deters bought in December 2019 with the aim of modernizing it. Gravity Haus renovated the gym, spa, lounge and coworking spaces. The Dryland performance gym, modeled on one Deters built in Denver, replaces the former Vail Athletic Club. The lodge also offers the Dryland Spa, fitness classes and open gym, and the Slope Room restaurant, with coffee from a zero-emissions roaster. It opened in 2020 as the second Gravity Haus location, after Breckenridge.

BOGZA produced interior renderings for the lodge in 2019. They show its bar, fitted with crystal chandeliers, a timber ceiling and booths, and a cafe lounge set with high tables over wood floors.
