Project brief
Hinton Oaks Industrial Park – 540 Hinton Oaks Blvd is a 120,000-square-foot Class A warehouse in Hinton Oaks Industrial Park in Knightdale, North Carolina, east of Raleigh. The park sits along I-540 where Knightdale Boulevard meets NC 64 Business, next to Wake Stone's quarry and headquarters. Wake Stone Corporation founded it in 2014 with the local developer Williams Realty & Building Company, and its real estate affiliate, Wake Stone Property Company, now develops the park with Williams in a joint venture. Merriman Schmitt Architects is credited as architect of the park's buildings, and Piedmont Land Design is also part of the project team.
The completed building measures 200 by 600 feet and has tilt-up reinforced concrete walls. It has a 100-foot dedicated truck court and shares a 200-foot court with a neighboring building, and the full space is listed as available for lease. It is one of four 120,000-square-foot speculative buildings in the park; the first was delivered in 2016. Buildings across the park have clear heights of 30 to 36 feet. The park has grown in phases and is planned to reach about 1.173 million square feet, with a 250,000-square-foot seventh and final building at 525 Hinton Oaks Blvd.
In 2021 BOGZA produced exterior renderings of the park. They include an aerial of the whole site that shows its truck courts and a stormwater pond set in pine forest beside the highway, and a closer view of one of the buildings.
