Project brief

The Monarch is a multifamily residential community planned for 35 Ridgedale Avenue in Hanover Township, New Jersey. It is being developed by JMF Properties, with architecture by SmithGroup and Devereaux. Devereaux also commissioned the visuals for the project.

The Monarch is under development, and JMF Properties lists it among its residential projects now in progress. Details such as the unit count, building height, and a construction or opening date have not been published. As currently designed, the community is made up of brick apartment buildings with gabled roofs arranged around a landscaped entry court. That pitched-roof, masonry approach gives the buildings a residential scale rather than the bulk of a single large block.

In 2023 BOGZA produced an exterior rendering of The Monarch for Devereaux. The view is taken from the approach drive at dusk, just after rain. From that vantage point, the brick buildings and their gabled rooflines frame the planted entry court, and the low evening light shows how the arrival sequence was designed to feel. The image presents the project's massing, materials and landscaping as a single scene, giving the development team a clear picture of the community before construction.
